UEFA has extended its agreement with Interoute to receive ICT infrastructure and services.
Continuing the cooperation which began in 2011, the administrative body for European football will run almost all of its applications and systems, including its website, in Interoute’s networked cloud.
The agreement also encompasses the Football Administration Management Environment, which is used to manage the Champions League and will be used for EURO 2016.
UEFA will also launch new services for UEFA such as Interoute Hosted Microsoft Lync and Bring Your Own Device services. Interoute will use its service level agreement (SLA) model that enables SLA levels to be tailored to the requirements of a competition or event.
Daniel Marion, Head of ICT at UEFA, commented, "Interoute’s networked cloud is the infrastructure platform for 98% of all the IT services that UEFA provides, from digital media to vital back office activities. Interoute understands our events process and has an agile operating model to fit with the needs of supporting and managing the ICT systems we use to run some of the most high profile football competitions in the world."
