Apple is planning to unveil its own music streaming service at its Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco.

The service is expected to go live this summer, and is likely to give tough competition to present streaming leaders Pandora and Spotify.

Apple’s latest service is expected to charge $10-a-month from users and allow them to listen to any song or album of their choice.

The iPhone maker is also reportedly planning to close its Beats music service, which it acquired along with the Beats’ hardware division for $3bn.

The existing users of Beats will be migrated to Apple‘s new streaming service, reported the Associated Press citing a source familiar with a matter.

Apart from introducing the a low cost subscription based streaming service, Apple is also planning to boost its free online-radio service by introducing channels, programmed like traditional radio stations featuring celebrities, along with an array of free offerings.

Apple is also expected to announce improvements to its other services including Apple Pay and Siri, and is likely to introduce programming tools for Apple Watch.
