Extreme Low Energy (ELE) has selected Ability Tec as its electronic circuit boards manufacturing partner in the UK.
Ability Tec will develop prototypes for the circuit boards to be utilised in ELE’s range of products before increasing manufacturing volumes.
Merseyside-based ELE was established in 2014 by Mark Buchanan and Peter Collin. It supplies low-energy and and low-carbon ICT infrastructure.
The company offers a range of solutions which enable customers to operate partially or fully off-grid.
The patent-pending products of ELE utilise direct and stored power from renewable energy sources, allowing customers to manage IT equipment without traditional electricity grids.
ELE is currently working with several schools, colleges and universities in the UK. It anticipates to sign its first contract in Africa in the next month.
Buchanan said: "The design, technical specification and functionality of the electronic circuit boards is critical to all of our products. A lot of companies might have got this work done overseas, but we were determined to find the right UK manufacturer to become our partner.
"The starting point is the work on the prototypes, but another important consideration was the capability of Ability Tec to quickly scale up production as required."
ELE said it will use Innovate UK’s £5,000 Innovation Voucher for the work to be carried out by Ability Tec.
